My Brother Aldo and I opened our first Adlib Music Store in 1980. The store was very small but we managed to trade there for 10 years. My wife Margaret came up with the name because apart from being a Music term it is also an anagram of my surname.

Sadly my brother Aldo passed away in 2001 and for a long time I struggled to come to terms with his passing as we had worked together for over 30 years. Fortunatley I was able to recruit excellent staff to try and fill the void as best as possible.

During 2000 we transferred the business to 8 Jamacia Street, Greenock. This was a brand new building and much more spacious. The extra space meant we could diversify and introduce more products. Over the years we have formed relationships with many customers from all over the West of Scotland and beyond. Some of these customers now have offspring coming to us for Musical Instrument purchases and advice.

It has been very satisfying over the years to witness some of our young customers graduate to become professional musicians and still continue the relationship with ADLIB Music.

At ADLIB Music our policy is always to treat each customer with the same cordiality, irrespective of how large or small the purchase is and always offer the best after sales service possible.
